Top of Mind Thursday October 23, 2014: Not Knowing How to Fail
This year’s World Series is being played by two teams that weren’t supposed to be here.
Both the Kansas City Royals and the San Francisco Giants were Wild Card teams–not the best teams in their divisions, let alone their leagues.
Yet each team beat three different post-season opponents, who were each predicted to win their respective series. It’s almost like these two World Series teams don’t know they’re supposed to lose and therefore they don’t.
Eventually, one of these teams will win the World Series, but neither team will have failed.
