Today is the first day of Rosh Hashonah, the Jewish New Year.
Each though the Gregorian calendar starts in January, the Jewish tradition celebrates the birth of the world in the Fall.
Fall is a good time to start a new year: Summer is behind us, a new school year begins, and there’s a renewed focus on business and work activities.
Whatever your religious background, I invite you to take a moment to celebrate a new year–a chance to put our problems and concerns behind us, rededicate ourselves to what is important, and start fresh in our lives.
In the Jewish tradition, I wish you l’shanah tovah, a good year.
(We’re starting 5774, for those who are counting.)
