Last Sunday’s Super Bowl was billed as the showdown between the two best teams in the NFL–Seattle, who had the best defense, vs. Denver, with the league leading offense.
Instead of a closely fought contest, we saw a total blowout. From the first play onward, Seattle was in control and Denver scrambled to try and even stay in the game.
How often do we make decisions based on reputation rather than reality? The bottom line is that no matter how good Denver had been all year, all that mattered were four quarters in a stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, where the Seattle Seahawks showed up and played like champions.
