Last Sunday’s NFL playoff game between the rival San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks ended with a stunning interception by Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman. But it was Sherman’s after game interview that caught the most attention.
Full of adrenaline and flush with victory, Sherman engaged in a full-on rant about his 49ers nemesis, Michael Crabtree, until the network could cut away to another shot.
It turns out that Sherman is a Stanford graduate who is not only well educated but extremely articulate. This came through in the interviews he gave the past few days–after things had calmed down.
Unfortunately, the impression of Sherman most people have is based on the few seconds they heard on national TV Sunday evening.
How will your team react under extreme stress? What first and lasting impression will they give in the heat of the moment?
