Wouldn’t it be nice if the actions we needed to take to be healthy were fun, the medicine always tasted good, and it required virtually no effort?
If that were the case, we’d all be fit, healthy, youthful and beautiful.
Unfortunately, getting in shape and staying there takes hard work. Sometimes the medicine tastes pretty bad or isn’t easy to swallow, but it’s better than the alternative.
As a marketing expert, I’m sometimes in the situation where I need to tell a client that what they’re set on doing won’t get them the results they’re expecting. Or, that the actions they need to take to meet their goals may not “taste good” at the time.
I’m a firm believer that I’m brought in to improve the client’s condition, not to conjure up tasty potions that don’t work.
A trusted adviser should tell you what you really need to do, not what you want to hear. In the long run, that’s what’s best for the health of your business.
